Voces de Andalucia May 3 – 8, 2016 in Brooklyn, NY

Flamenco Vivo presents the premieres of new contemporary flamenco dance and music inspired by the cultural richness of Andalucia, the region of Spain known as “the cradle of flamenco.”Voces de Andalucia explores this land through two Andalucian-born artists, Pablo Picasso and Federico García Lorca. The program features the world premiere of PiCa, Choreographer Susana di Palma’s dance fiction about Picasso; Federico, a celebration of Lorca’s creative genius and profound connection to flamenco and its peoples; and Canciones Populares, a world premiere instrumental and vocal composition by Gaspar Rodriguez based on Lorca verses.

The program also includes Angeles II, choreographed and performed by British National Dance Award nominee Ángel Muñoz.

The entire program will be performed with live music.
